9-8-2018 Bethlehem – Alrowwad Cultural and Arts Society in Aida camp, in partnership with the Directorate of Education and the culture Directorate in Bethlehem Governorate, launched the first specialized media club for girls with the participation of more than 35 students from elite public and private schools in Bethlehem.
The opening ceremony was attended by Dr. Abdel Fattah Abu Sorour, General Director of the Alrowwad Association, Deputy of the culture Directorate in Bethlehem Ahmad Al-Shamarqa, Public Relations and Information Officer at the Education Directorate in Bethlehem Khuloud Daras and Media Coordinator of the Alrowwad Association Mohammad Abu Haneya.
The idea of the media club for girls was a first experience involving a group of schoolgirls in Bethlehem Governorate. The students are introduced to the media and enabled to work in the media through the practical experience conveyed to them by a group of media journalists working in the local and international media. Girls will receive practical training in the field of audiovisual and written media, the use of technology and social media in promoting media work as a modern media, as well as tours and visits to media organizations.
The meeting opened with a welcoming speech to the General Director of the Alrowwad Association, Dr. Abdul Fattah Abu Sorour, who stressed the keenness of the Alrowwad to allow the school students to benefit from the programs implemented by the Association in all its fields. Alrowwad Association relies on its programs, activities and projects on the Palestinian community with a focus on children, youth and women to develop them and work to empower them and improve their creativity.
For his part, deputy director of the culture Directorate in Bethlehem province Ahmed Al-Shamarkha said that the organization of a specialized media club aimed at elite school students in Bethlehem governorate in partnership with the Directorate of Education and the implementation of the Alrowwad Association is an opportunity to involve school students in the media field to be friends of the Information Office of the Ministry of Culture And part of the work of the media within their schools, which strengthen the love of the press profession and push them to complete their academic career in the field of journalism and media in addition to work to identify and involve the experiences of a group of journalists and media workers in the local and international media .
The Public Relations and Media Officer at the Directorate of Education in the Bethlehem Governorate Khuloud Daras said that the media club is a pioneering experience in the Bethlehem governorate. We aspire to become a model applied in different governorates to give students the opportunity to learn about the media closely and to practice journalism in different roles.
